We live in a 1,000 square foot, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cape-cod-style house, circa 1925, that needed a good bit of cosmetic work when we moved in. It is a very exciting time to be an Atlantan!
It is on the southeast side of town, and will (very!) soon be connected to the rest of the city by the Beltline, which will ultimately connect 45 intown neighborhoods via a 22-mile loop of multi-use trails, modern streetcar, and parks – all based on railroad corridors that formerly encircled Atlanta. We’re Atlanta natives (something that is becoming more and more of a rarity these days!), and we love our city! I created as a place to share tidbits about our lives in and around the city, and as a place for friends and family to follow along as we are constantly changing and updating our home.Ī little over four years ago, we decided to buy our first house in the Ormewood Park neighborhood of Atlanta. I married my high school sweetheart my senior year of college, and I finally found my calling as a Mama (who dabbles in real estate) seven years later. I was following along and saving inspiration from this beautiful site long before I ever dreamed up my Instagram account. I personally am loving her kitchen! The cabinets are from Ikea and are made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, which you would never guess by looking at them! Trust me, you will learn a thing or two with Amanda today.
